What is the mole in chemistry and what are some common household objects that have mole?I really don't get what mole is actually. I get that is a measurement but other than that I'm confused. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!!!

As sure as a "dozen" is 12; a score is 20; a gross is 144; a MOLE is ALWAYS: 6.02 X 10^23. A mole of eggs is 6.02X10^23 eggs. Different Moles have different masses but always the same number. (12 eggs does not weigh the same as 12 apples; but 12=12!) In the micro-world of science and God-Particle search "one" is usually TOO SMALL to play with and a bucket with a mole of atomic units is big enough to play with. So most scientists play with moles of units NOT single units. To underscore this; take an egg out of a carton (containing a dozen; in a store) and try to buy it at the check out counter! Most students of science cant even immagine taking one atom out of a beaker (containing a mole; in a science lab) and trying to show it to the teacher! You can see a beaker full; but, you can not see one (with the naked eye.)

Think of the mole just as you do a "dozen".
A dozen equals 12 of something. It can be 12 of anything thats countable, be it apples, donuts, people, etc.
 
A mole is the same thing, but equal to 6.022 x 10^23 of something.
We often use it in chemistry to count atoms. Thus, a mole of Carbon atoms = 6.022 x 10^23 Carbon atoms.
