Allopathic medicine is the most widely used therapy in the United States.  Some may consider this an archaic term because so many people avail themselves of complementary and alternative medicine. Under the guidance of medical doctors, patients receive diagnostic and treatment regimens in the alleviation of illness.  Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is sometimes used as a supplement to allopathic care.  CAM has a greater emphasis on holistic and natural therapies.
