Some juveniles accused of murder are waived to adult court. A juvenile court judge may decide to waive jurisdiction and send the case to adult court. If the case is transferred to adult court, the offender is treated as an adult and in many cases is subject to the same punishments as adults. The prosecutor represents the interests of the state in bringing a case against a juvenile. You will take what you learned from the reading assignment and create a well written essay of 1–page highlighting the information listed below.  

To achieve maximum points for content analysis, the following elements need to be thoroughly addressed: Identify an article in a newspaper or other current event publication involving a juvenile waived to adult court. Make sure the event chosen is less than 1 year old. Based on the information provided in the article, identify the factors that led to the juvenile being waived to adult court. Compare these factors with the factors identified by the U.S. Supreme Court in Kent v. United States.
