Objective: To develop personal goals which will frame one’s understanding of their own leadership style.

As one leads oneself, thinking about development goals is an important step. In order to get to our destination, one must know where we are going. This assignment is a good first step in knowing where you are going through the creation of development goals. These development goals can be personal or professional but they must follow the SMARTER framework. The SMARTER framework helps to remove ambiguity from the goal setting process by creating goals that are measurable and time bound.

• Create a presentation in which you develop three developmental goals you will work on over the next three years. These three goals should relate to your personal leadership vision you created in Week 1.

  • The goals should be created using the SMARTER framework

  • Provide 5 slides with visuals (introduce yourself, discuss your vision, outline the personal development goals, etc)
