Objective 2: Analyze crime against society.

You have now practiced the process of breaking down statutes, and briefing cases. Now you will combine these processes by breaking down a statute and completing a case brief, identifying whether or not all the elements of a statute have been satisfied.

• Write a 2-page paper on a crime against society. Use case information from the text and fully explain each element of the crime and what evidence was available for prosecution to meets its burden of proof. Ensure that the following elements are included:
• • Select a statute and case
  • Identify the elements of the statute
  • Using the case, find the facts that a prosecutor would use to meet their burden of proof
  • Provide at least two sources. If you cite a dictionary it will be in addition to the required two sources. The Bible is not to be listed on the References page, but does have to be cited in-text.
