Question

Often what passes publicly as statements of apology, request for forgiveness and reconciliation, and calls for justice do not align with the biblical framework. What the public accepts as satisfactory does not necessarily mean that it is biblical. As Christians, we desire to be people of true, Christ-like character even in conflict, whether we have wronged someone, or someone has wronged us. This assignment invites to you to compare public and biblical ideas concerning apologies, forgiveness, reconciliation, and justice. This will help you begin to build a framework that will help you determine the difference between authentic and inauthentic acts of providing apologies, requesting and giving forgiveness, seeking reconciliation, and calling for justice. This becomes helpful as you evaluate how others and how you, yourself, handle these issues.
