Objective: Identify Group Models and Types in the Context of Substance Abuse Counseling.

For substance-abusing clients, recovery is powerfully affected by success of interpersonal relationships and the quality of social skills. Because group counseling focuses directly on these issues, it has a great potential as an effective component of treatment. Indeed, “it takes a village.”
