Confidence Interval: Data Analysis

Question

Remember the 5 questions you answered in the beginning of the semester? Now is the time to take a look at them. I have included the data set in excel and pdf file formats. Feel free to use any of the data that is included in this data set.

Pick one of the questions from the data set

2.) Think about the question. For example, hair color, how many people in this class do think have red hair.

I might think that 5% of the class has red hair. Or maybe we know that 5% of the population in the US have red hair. We will use this hypothesis' later on in chapter 9, but it is not a bad idea to start thinking about what we might find out about these data sets before we actually do the analysis.

3.) State which data set you have chosen.

4.)Analyze the data.

5.) Identify the point estimate and the error bound

6.) Conduct a 95% confidence interval for the data you have chosen.

7.) Reflect, did your guess in the beginning end up in the interval that you found? Why do think it did or why do think it did not end up in the interval?
