The window

Question

Poem: “The Window”

I sit beside the evening light,

A window framing fading day.

The sky is burning soft and bright,

Then slowly turns to quiet gray.

A bird returns to nest alone,

Its wings now still, its journey done.

The world hums low a twilight tone,

A whispered end to setting sun.

In glass, I see my own reflection,

A ghost between the dusk and me.

Time slips in silent, swift direction,

And leaves behind what used to be.
