BOS 3640, Interactions of Hazardous MaterialsReason why DOT prohibits operation of the vehicle engine during loading and unloading of explosivesMost of the explosives are more hazardous when exposed to heat. A running engine emits heat due to the combustion that takes place to facilitate the operation of the engine. It is for this reason that DOT recommends switching off the engine to avoid any reaction that may be caused by the heat from the engine. It is always advised that explosives are loaded away from heat source, for instance running engine. Actions that a fire marshal should take to protect the public health, safety and the environment in case dynamite sticks are identified in a given locationFirst and foremost, the fire marshal should make a call to inform the relevant authorities about the dynamite sticks. Upon making the call, he should clearly provide details of the location where the dynamite have been found. The marshal should also evacuate all individuals that are within the area where the explosives are and sound an alarm to prevent any person from going back to the building. In case there is any animal or property that can be evacuated from the building he should also put them on safety.  Health effects associated with nitroglycerine Nitroglycerine can affect an individual either by breathing it in or through body contact. Physical contact causes irritation to both the skin and the eyes. If the victim consumes a high level of the chemical, oxygen flow is curtailed since the blood fails to carry the oxygen through the body smoothly. The individual may experience fatigue, headaches, dizziness and his skin and lips color may appear turn to blue.High levels of nitroglycerine lead to skin allergy such that if the individual is exposed to low levels of the chemical, his skin will be itchy.The chemical is highly explosive to the extent that it can explode causing huge damage to any individual who is within the area.Other effects of the chemical include, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, mental confusion and even death.Nuclear reaction within the reactor of a nuclear plantA nuclear reactor is a system that is designed to control and maintain a given chain of nuclear reactions. During a nuclear reaction a lot of energy is produced, the nuclear reactor monitors and prevents the energy released from splitting the atoms of particular components. The power is usually used as heat to produce steam that generates electricity.  Steam is used to turn the turbines, and it is often produced as a result of cooling the excess heat with plain water. The primary reactors are pressurized water reactor and boiling water reactor.

Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima Da-Inchi incidentsThe nuclear accidents that occurred in the above three years were caused by different malfunctions; The Chernobyl incident was due to an accidental explosion of the core when an emergency shutdown of the reactor was done due to a power failure while carrying an experiment. The explosion was caused by an uncontrolled reaction which flashed the cooling water into steam thus causing the massive destruction.The Mile Island disaster was caused by a failure in the non-nuclear secondary system, followed by a fixed open pilot-run break valve in the prime system; as a result, huge amounts of nuclear receptacle coolant escaped. The disaster was also as a result of human failure, more so the human interface was ambiguous such that it was stressful controlling the whole nuclear reaction system.The Fukushima accident was caused by a major earthquake; it was a 15-metre tsunami that destroyed the power supply and cooling systems of the nuclear plant. The tsunami made all the cores to melt such that they had to be scrapped later in the following weeks.The nuclear accidents that occurred in the above three years were had the following radioactivity levels;The Chernobyl accident released a radiation level of 2.5 mci which contained harmful noble gasses. The same accident also released 15 ci of radioiodine which was also considered to be harmful. In general, the incident is deemed to have had high levels of radioactive elements. The mile island incident, unlike Chernobyl and Fukushima it is considered to have had very little radioactive elements. Research conducted suggests that no substantial levels were accredited.The Fukushima is also said to have had high levels of active components; it is rated seventh on the INES scale. After the accident 940 PBq radioactive releases had been recorded.
