Read Ordinary Saints book by Robert Benne Chapter 1 called Introduction: Our Fragmented World (19 Pages total) and then answer the following questions below. Be sure to include questions and answers in Word Document. I attached chapter 1 in JPG format below.

1. Does the author depict life on American campuses too negatively?
Why or why not?
2. What is a tradition? What are its components? What sorts of genuine
traditions do you participate in?
3. What do you think of the assertion that the republican and biblical
traditions made up the main guidance system of America? Have other
traditions been neglected?
4. Do you think it is true that there once was an America of more settled
and clear moral convictions? How would you assess such a society?
5. Define utilitarian and expressive individualism. Give some examples
of each type. Give some examples of biblical and republican types.
6. Does this analysis of individualism help understand the challenges fac-
ing church and society? Do these forms of individualism affect you?
7. On balance, do you think the high level of individualism claimed in
the book has brought fragmentation and dangerous confusion, or has
it instead brought more freedom and tolerance?
8. Do you think the health of American society is dependent on the
health of American Christian communities?
9. Do you think the brief defense of the Christian claim to truth is
persuasive?
