The five goals of exploring ethics in criminal justice include developing a greater awareness of moral/ethical issues, developing critical and analytical skills, becoming personally responsible, understanding coercion in the criminal justice system and to develop whole sight. Examining these goals and considering racial and ethical disparities will help the student to apply problem solving skills to the issues facing the criminal justice system. Police, courts and corrections will be explored in light of ethical concerns and will provide a basis for future considerations on how the system could be changed.
