Discussion for Sikhism

Question

Jagmeet Singh's description of his experience as a young person coming into Sikhism in a Sikh household in Canada (primarily through the influence of his mother) provides a very personal insight into the experience of Sikhism for an adherent, specifically through leading a life of service to other human beings. Why do you think service is so important, and what do we see about how service serves as a central pillar to this spiritual path in Jagmeet Sigh's story? Why do you think he discussed both the service of feeding others as well as the spiritual practices of chanting -- and in what way are service and the more "ritualized" elements of Sikhism connected?
