JC WEEK 2 major theories response

Question

1 page only this is a discussion!!

The major theories of ethics include Deontology, which says that actions are right or wrong because they are just, right, meet basic obligations, follow principles, or obey moral rules. The 10 Commandments are a good example of deontological reasoning. Another major theory of ethics is Teleology, which places an emphasis on the consequences, or results, of an action. Teleological reasoning is commonly seen in an ‘ends justify the means’ approach to ethics. Third, Virtue Ethics focuses not so much on the action itself as on the character of the person doing the action. In Virtue Ethics, actions are not so much right or wrong as they are morally praiseworthy or blameworthy. As you read Rae, pay attention to how these broader approaches can be broken down into more specific ethical theories.
