Hong Kong has an energy source of below 0.1% in renewable sources of energy which is a small percentage in comparison to other cities. With information available everywhere of energy supplies being sourced from other sources, Hong Kong energy use is entirely reliant on converting the imported energy sources (Hong Kong Energy Statistics, 2019). Considering the internet interviews on Hong Kong renewable energy sources' position, the renewable energy sources are fewer in relation to the demand. The demand still requires Hong Kong to import energy products to be able to produce energy enough to sustain consumption in the city. As a student tackling the environment and energy topic, I desire to communicate the alternatives sources of how renewable energy sources can be developed to cater for the increased energy consumption in Hong Kong.
